Stafford House London teaches Modules 1, 2 and 3 of the Cambridge DELTA courses. DELTA is a natural progression from CELTA and the perfect starting point if you wish to advance your ESL teaching career.
DELTA Module 1
Stafford House Teacher Training in London will be running two Module 1 courses in 2024 to help you get started in advancing your career with the Cambridge DELTA, the key to getting jobs as a senior teacher, academic manager or teacher trainer.
DELTA Module 1 (Understanding Language, Methodology and Resources for Teaching) focuses on extending and developing your knowledge and understanding of teaching English in a range of contexts.
Cambridge DELTA Module 1 covers 6 topics:
- Theoretical perspectives on language acquisition and language teaching
- Different teaching approaches and methodologies, including current developments
- Language systems and learners’ linguistic problems
- Language skills and learners’ problems
- Knowledge of resources, materials and reference sources for language learning
- Key assessment concepts and terminology
Please note that this course is for teachers who already have a CELTA or equivalent qualification and who have classroom experience. This is a theory-based course and does not include teaching practice.
DELTA Module 2
DELTA Module 2 focuses on developing your awareness and expertise in the principles and professional practice of teaching English in a range of contexts:

Requirements
- CELTA or Trinity Cert TESOL qualification
- Minimum two years of teaching experience
- Language level C2/C1
- It is essential you are teaching as your teaching practice will be assessed, and this will take place within your workplace with your own students.
Delta Module 3
DELTA Module 3 (Extending Practice and ELT Specialism) focuses on needs analysis, syllabus design, course planning and assessment. There are a wide range of specialisms you can choose from, including areas such as Business English, Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), English for Academic Purposes, English for Specific Purposes, ESOL learners with literacy needs, teaching examination classes, teaching in a non-English-speaking environment, teaching in an English-speaking environment, teaching learners online, or through distance/blended learning, teaching monolingual classes, teaching multilingual classes and teaching one-to-one. This course is assessed by means of an assignment of between 4,000 and 4,500 words.

You will then have fourteen weeks to work on your assignment. You will receive guidance on researching and writing this assignment and get regular feedback from your course tutor.

If you wish to submit at the end of the course, the submission date for the assignment is 10th June and 9th December 2024 – exam registration fee £103.
